Peggy Guggenheim’s unknown inheritance
F.lli Saclà's first contemporary art sponsorship was in Venice in 1987 and was the highly acclaimed “Peggy Guggenheim’s unknown inheritance” exhibition (Le eredità sconosciute di Peggy Guggenheim). The show attracted world-wide media attention. Amongst the fiftysix works of art were paintings, sculptures and works on paper – all emanating from prestigious public and mainly American private collections. The artists included in the exhibition at the Venier dei Leoni Palace were Max Ernst, Jason Pollock, Emilio Vedova and Theo van Doesburg.

Saclà: from the gastronomic to the visual art
Based on the concept of gastronomic art, Saclà has launched in 2005 its latest communication strategy - L’ARTE di SACLÀ which is a wholly contemporary and invigorating strategy for the brand on the export markets.
Saclà’s products are the basis of an incredibly visual exhibition incorporating food and art by six contemporary artists. They include Valentina Cameratesi, Amélie Dillemann, Fl@33, Anne Veaute, Tan Kadam, and Max Lowry and all emanate from different artistic backgrounds including painting, sculpture, photography, design and video-art. Through this exhibition of different art forms, the artists offer their spontaneous, ludic and artistic interpretation of the packaging, ingredients and recipes created by Saclà.
The well known Italian family run food company, specialises in the manufacture of premium products made predominantly from vegetables. In order to communicate the brand’s core messages Saclà invited the six artists to confront the topic of Food and Art. The result is therefore a melange between food and art and how this is interpreted through different artistic creations. The result is truly spectacular and the art forms interpret the products in both a real and abstract manner.
The first exhibition of the works was in at Boulevard Ledru Rollin, Paris in 2005. The exhibition took place in a temple which was chosen for its’ classic elegance and the ideal setting for the theme of ‘marrying’ gastronomy and visual art which was created by Saclà.
Valentina Cameratesi
Valentina Cameratesi is an Italian artist, designer and illustrator who has worked predominantly in the fashion industry creating print designs for fabrics. Amélie Dillemann
Amélie Dillemann is a renowned French sculptor and decorator whose experience to date has included window dressing some of the most renowned fashion houses including Christian Lacroix, Louis Vuitton and Chanel. Her untitled work for the exhibition is created from a cardboard chessboard. Adorning the board is a handful of pawns among which the King is decorated with a red crown. This is pertinent to the brand as it represents part of the Saclà logo which has been the symbol of Saclà for more than 60 years.

Tan Kadam
Turkish-German photographer who has always developed a very intimist personal work. He turns to the universe of the infinitely small in order to create a range of details fleeting in a different way. He has mainly created series of works on the materials. “Courgette” / “Artichaut” / “Ail” / “Tomate” / “Champignon” are the five works inspired by five ingredients used by Saclà which have, in Tan Kadam’s works, a new meaning, reaching an unexpected lyricism. The vegetables have shed their usual form in order to be analysed under a microscope and to reveal a new appearance very different from the ordinary.

Similarly he has been commissioned for portraits and has exhibited some exceptional works in London, Devon, Cornwall and Carcassone. His two works created for Saclà are entitled “Heart” and “Inside Sacla”.
Heart – The heart is a symbol and represents the essence of everything whilst evoking a passion for Saclà “Inside Saclà” - This oil on canvas captures the freshness and provenance of the vegetables behind the products of the brand. Both works instil a desire to taste and discover more.
